US – Bangla Airlines is commencing first flight on 15 May 2016 to Kathmandu, Nepal 30/04/2016



30 Apr 2016 –  US–Bangla Airlines is commencing its inaugural international operation to the beauty land “Nepal” with its DASH8-Q400 series aircraft from 15 May 2016.

PR Manager Md. Kamrul Islam said to aviationnepal, the inaugural flight is scheduled on 15 May 2016, taking off from Dhaka at 3:00pm (Local Time) and is supposed to land at Kathmandu, Nepal at 4:30pm (Local Time) and very day the flight will again airborne from Kathmandu, TIA at 5:10pm (Local Time)  for the return flight and will land Dhaka at 7:10pm (Local Time).

He continued: “The inaugural flight will be carried out by the DASH8-Q400 series, which is a 78 seater commercial airplane and presently with only economy class seats.”

As per the information: the airline is planning to purchase new Boeing 737 to add on this route, shortly within last of the Aug, 2016.

The fare charge for one way cost is NPR. 13,271 and the two way fare including the return flight would cost NPR. 25,763. (Including all taxes and surcharges).

Initially, US – Bangla Airlines is planning to operate its flight to Kathmandu for three days a week which are: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday respectively.  Soon in the future to extend its flights it is aimed to schedule 7 flights a week. US – Bangla Airlines has authorized and handed its General Sales Agent (GSA) to Namaste Travels, which is located at Hattishar, Kathmandu.

Few months back, the CAAN Inspectors had visited Bangladesh for the inspection of aircraft airworthiness and found satisfactory.

US-Bangla Airlines is a Bangladeshi private airline that was launched by United Sates – Bangladesh joint venture, subsidiary of US-Bangla Group. So far, till the date US – Bangla is operating its domestic fights with its three Bombardier Dash8-Q400s to 8 local destinations and flying to the Nepal would be the first International journey.

Currently, Biman Bangladesh is the only airline operating flights to Nepal from its home land, and addition of US – Bangla would be the second one, sharing the same sky together.
